Taking place in the historic city of Newport, the venue is embedded with maritime culture and tradition. It is a three-day regatta held at the height of the summer sailing season. Newport is a fantastic venue because of the variety of conditions can range tremendously, therefore the top title is one that hard-fought yet well deserved. The Melges 32 loves Newport, as it has played host many times to the Nationals.

This event is the third regatta on the forthcoming of the 2009 Melges 32 Great Lakes Gold Cup Series. Plan to attend all three events – the Chicago NOOD on June 19-21, the Great Lakes Championship on July 31-August 2 and the Verve Cup completes the Series on August 13-16. This is the perfect time to get the spring and summer racing season on track!
