Moments Of Terror… Now Funny!

In between races… Tender action. Volpe tender almost took the Argo tender on board… Too bad that with all the photographers on board that not one camera was ready to capture the bottom of the Argo tender on top of a huge wave (10ft) looking down at Volpe.
Everyone laughing though as all reminisced about the look on Jim Condon and Dave Ullman’s faces as they looked down to see Volpe!!!
Crazy!

Gnarly Dude…
by Joy on Dec.03, 2011, under 1 : USA Sailing Series, Gold Cup Regatta
Teams are waking up to the roar of the ocean here at Bahia Mar Marina in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Friday’s racing was pretty intense, but we don’t think we’ve seen nothing yet. Commanders Weather Forecasting has 18-25 knots of breeze predicted with gusts pushing that or higher. The Bahamas forcast is calling for 25-30 knots which apparently will push for more swell in Fort Lauderdale – 6-8 ft seas today, maybe more.
We are sad to report that unfortunately, the call was made last evening to cancel the Lauderdale Yacht Club Sailing Foundation Take A Junior Sailing Day due to safety reasons and concerns. By the looks of this image of waves now pounding the beaches, it’s probably the best call.
