by Joy on Sep.24, 2009, under 4 : World Championship

Rainy weather prevails in Porto Cervo at the moment and has prompted the RC to place the day under a brief postponement. Standby for more updates as they are provided… RC has a boat out on the course right now, checking the conditions.

It is almost certain racing will happen today. It’s only in the last half hour that the rain turned miserably heavy… More updates shortly — From IM32CA, Media Centre in Porto Cervo…

Rockin’ In Porto Cervo

by Joy on Sep.24, 2009, under 4 : World Championship

The International Melges 32 Class Association was thrilled to see the start of the very first World Championship in Porto Cervo yesterday. Out front and certainly not a shocker is Claudio Recchi on Team 93 leading the event. After the trials and tribulations of registration for Joe Woods — the ultimate and appropriate triumph for the English Red team was felt through and through as his team blasted across the finish line in first for  race one.

Be aware that the following info outlets Sailing Anarchy OTW as well as the partnership of Offshore Rules and Italy’s Adesso Vela are also broadcasting from the race course every day. This unique form of sailing communication has been well received around the world, so do plan to tune in.
